Design Museum Gent was founded in 1903 as a 'museum of models', a place where craftspeople and artists could find inspiration and knowledge. How can a design collection still inspire today? The new collection presentation Models from the Past for the Future takes the museum's origins as its starting point.

This book brings together fifty objects from the exhibition, arranged according to five themes that offer entry points to today's world of design: Copy, Comfort, Migration, Folding and Connections. Which models will we carry into the future?
